Cuddle Up
After reading Cathy Horyn's Burberry "Cuddle Up" blog entry in the New York Times, I must say, I have mixed reviews. The entry itself was extremely short for a fashion overview. However, I loved the way she describes the garments; but, after reading the entry I was left wanting more. So much, that I ended up looking up and reading other blog entries by other writers for this same collection. I just wished she would have set the mood of the overall collection more at the beginning of the post rather than rave about the attending celebrities. She also, could have went into depth about the theme of the collection from her perspective instead of just saying it was English Rose, considering that's what the creative director named the collection. I personally enjoy blog entries more when fashion critics display a little more of their own personality and opinions when they write. This makes them not seem so automated. Despite my negative feelings about the article, one can tell that she is seasoned in her craft and knows her fashion terminology; and for this reason I liked the article!
I personally loved the new spring 2014 Burberry Collection, it was fun and like they said sweet! I loved the mix of pastel colors with the pop of simple, yet bold patterns. The lace skirts I also liked. Although, I'm not to kin about the shear fabrics lol I like to be covered up, even in the spring and summer months.
